Welcome to Avahi!

Well, it looks like my posts are getting fewer and farther between. This is mostly to do with being surrounded by really smart people and overcomming the feeling that what I have to say is irrelevant, been overdone, or only adding to the noise...

This is a misconception, after contemplating this I was convinced that the real reason anyone should blog is to communicate, at what ever level that might be. And as for me, writing is a gratifying way to communicate. Communication, free comunication fascilitates and promotes freedom of ideas and creativity in its most base form, a necessary ingredient to combat the trend toward illiteracy, ignorance, blind obedience to fascist regimes, or politically reprobate ideas.

Blogs are great ways overcome the information overload in your immediate comunity, for instance I book mark all of my friends blogs and read them regulary. Each person usually coming with their own focus, even if most of us share the same basic viewpoints. An interresting perspective I read most recently was Kens blog about the coming evil.

Rob, always has cool stuff, and Eric recently got me thinking about zero configuration, and thanks to Pipes who graciously shared the book with me.
This is totally revolutionary, and everyone should be looking at this. The Linux implementation is called Avahi (see link in title). OSX calls it bonjour. iTunes is a good example of what I'm talking about.

check out Hamachi.
