206 neg9 meet friday feb 10

So I completed the install of the knoppix 4.0 system on my SONY VAIO VGNT350P yesterday, and it passed a grub error and wouldn't boot, however if you choose the debian setup it will give you a debianized system, initially it didn't recognize the Intell PRO/wireless 2200, but I have not had time to experiment yet with the Prism card. also I stumbled on other people that have installed debian on sonys--see my links in the sidebar.

So I haven't as of this writing even read them, and can't make an educated statement about them, however I will and remove or add anything that isn't right.

I might be going back to a FreeBSD install if it appears the learning curve is going to be the same.
I am really in the dark however as to whether the problem was me or an issue with Sony. I noticed that one of the links was saying there was a need to install the driver.

UPDATE
It seems that I got the wireless to work perfectly with the prism card, thats great news, because now I can try out my gps and yagi antenna....

If you haven't looked at google earth you should, its soooooo cool, I could barely contain myself, I don't see any people yet though, however you can see the cars, I think this is real time, it says its streaming... check it out!
