iBook G4 is a FreeBSD system?

This probably comes as no surprise to Mac owners, but I've always had PC's so It was quite a surprise when I came across this page. I mean to say that I knew OSX was a UNIX under the hood, but I assumed it was so customized as to be virtually a different OS, however, apparently you can run all the same commands from the terminal. So how do you get to the terminal? I'm off to find out. I have a iBook G4 for a week to play with and my issues are to get azurus (bittorrent) up and running, it appears to have a NAT problem so I need to configure some network options, unfortunately I haven't found a way in through the interface. The GUI is woefully unintuitive, incomplete and lacking in true power options so it appears you have to be a UNIX kernel hacker caliber sort of person to get things done! Looks like I have opened up another can of worms, and the trial always leads back to a basic understanding of UNIX no matter what technology you dig deeply into.

### found terminal, click finder>applications>utilities> Hey, its a BASH shell!!!
# ok, I take back the part about incomplete, and lacking in true power options,
# "we got it going on" this is totally a power computer, can I take back my VAIO!
