Ubuntu on XP with VMware

I guess that says it all in the title-I alocated 196Mb memory and am doing the prilim discovery, as I am not totally up to speed on VMware. I'll tell you this, it blows Virtual PC away, my Ubuntu 5.04 can get an Internet connection from an embedded GPRS, Eth, or WLAN. Whatever I'm using on the host system. I updated with the synaptic package manager a 105Mb transfer that went without problem. Purposefully I left a few applications running on the host (XP) to see if it would crash. (I'm doing this on my Sony Vaio VGNT350P with 1.2Ghz chip and 512 memory) I left tracks eraser pro to erase every 15 minutes. No problem there, however, when the PC goes into powersaving mode it can do some funny things. So I went into destop props/screen.../poweroptions etc and changed the scheme to presentation mode. Im always on or near to the juice flow anyhow. easy to change back before the wardrive.
