I recently partitioned 4Gbs on my VAIO so I could have a Suse Linux 10 minimal graphics system on my computer. The VMware works great but I want to experiment with where would be the best place to grab and view wireless packets from. I now have three ways to run Linux. Knoppix, in a virtual machine and from a full on partition.

Theres actually still a great deal of a learning curve ahead of me administering a minimal graphic system and I am using the Oreilly unix bookshelf, in conjunction with sams suse10, the info and man pages, and the written documentation novell shipped with the suse box, why note just use opensuse ? mostly just because I love all the goodies that come rpm'd with the distro, conveinance. and the possibility of just having an entire harddrive on my Sony devoted to Linux someday.

I want to be able to support my GPRS chip, my intel pro wireless 80211g, my bluetooth, and compare and contrast IDEs (VS, Code Warrior, and the open source alternatives) also find out if mathcad, labview, itunes, my dvd burner, nero, and all these games like path of neo, matrix online can be either covered, or work through wine.

newbie tip of the day-- When exiting a minimal graphic install ( I don't know exactly which one Im using yet) su then reboot -n to escape to the other partition.

Do you Wi-Foo, I'm learning to...
